Welcome to the Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron (PSPS), a non-profit organization dedicated to boating safety through education, civic service and fellowship.  PSPS is a unit in District 27 of the United States Power Squadron® (USPS), America's largest non-profit boating organization supporting 33 Districts and 450 Squadrons in their mission and honored on numerous occasions for civic contributions.  PSPS encompasses the Pamlico River and Pamlico Sound areas and is headquartered in Washington NC.  Over 140 members from Beaufort and Pitt counties share an appreciation for boating and range from new boaters to those with a Captain's License.

PSPS Education Classroom

Squadron educational public offerings include an introductory boating course, America’s Boating Course, and a number of short seminars. Our certified instructors also conduct elective and advanced courses on a variety of boating topics for our members. The squadron promotes boating safety at local community events for both children and adults.

Instructors at Girl Scout Sailing CampPSPS is involved in a variety of civic service projects. Qualified members conduct free Vessel Safety Checks for more than 150 boats annually to promote safer boating. Members are involved in the Cooperative Charting Project, a USPS and NOAA joint effort to maintain governmental waterways chart accuracy. Volunteers assist in the annual Washington Christmas Flotilla, provide instruction at the Girl Scout Sailing Camp and many other projects.

PSPS RaftupPSPS offers numerous boating activities throughout the year.  These include cruises north on the ICW to the Chesapeake, south on the ICW to Oriental, Beaufort and points beyond, across the Pamlico Sound to Ocracoke, day trips to local marinas, and raft-ups. We have bimonthly membership meetings which include dinner and a guest speaker.
