The 2010 Cruise Calendar is in the planning stages and we’ve set up cruises to Ocracoke in June and Oriental in October. However, we’d like to hear from the Membership what destinations you might be interested in including in the calendar.
PSPS has tried to schedule cruises to River Dunes in 2009, however, due to weather that was canceled last year. Is that a location of interest? What other location or locations should be considered?
Let us hear from you…..we’d like your feedback and want to give you a plan that will get you excited for the warm weather and participation in the PSPS Cruising Plans for 2010.

I really would like to see Okracoke (sp?) and River Dunes happen in the early summer or late spring. I would be willing to help on either cruise planning effort.

A cruise to River Dunes would be great! Maybe the weather will cooperate better this year.
The WYC is planning a cruise to Edenton-going to Dowry Creek Memorial Day weekend and then to Alligator River on the 31th and then to Edenton on June 1 returning to WYC on June 6.
So it would be good to plan the PSPS cruise to “?” either early spring or in July/August.
A cruise to anywhere would be GREAT.
Gene, last year PSPS tried to set up a cruise to Bath that included an educational program on flares, disposing of expired flares and a demo. I know this takes alot of coordination, but I think it would be worthwhile and we could wrap it with grilling and a dish to pass.

I’d like to see overnight anchorages as part of cruises or as destinations. There’s some nice pristine areas like Slade Creek and Deep Bay although best before or after the yellow fly season. South River off the Neuse is a popular anchorage for some of the sailing groups in New Bern. Cape Lookout is always a nice trip weather permitting.
